Legos, Music Addiction, Obama

A few months ago, after finding out that one of the guys that attended Jasper High School with me, Nannan Zhang, is an avid lego enthusiast, I started reading Lego Fanboy, Brothers Brick and a few other blogs. When I was back home for Election Day holiday, I ended up spending most of my time back home playing with Legos. Here is what I made:

Two seats. One for the pilot and one for the engineer.

Buzz saws to destroy debris and enemy space ships.
And here is what I did to the living room:

Ok lets get on to the main part of the post. When I was young, my dad got us a Casio CA-100 Tonebank electronic keyboard. It was pretty much a run-of-the-mill electronic piano with cute little built in loops and sounds. It did have one cool feature though. There was this pink button that read DEMO that when depressed started a song complete with multiple instruments, percussion, etc. This button ended up becoming the bane of my existence when I was young because whenever I was passionately playing the piano, my sister would come over and press that button, starting that stupid song. Regardless of how much I hated that button and that song, that song ended up getting stuck in my head and I have pretty much had it stuck in my head for the last 15 years.

Last week, I finally set out to find out what song it is and used Midomi, a website that tries to guess a song that you hum or sing. So it turns out that the whole time, that song was Together Forever by Rick Astley of Rick Roll fame. Hahahahaha. I’ve listened to it 40 times already.

And last, Obama won! This is the first time that a candidate with an undergraduate degree from Columbia University has won. Now only if we can get him to speak at next year’s commencement…
